Very famous for the "Berabo (Funny old man in Edo period )" picture. Humorous and Unique characters are drawn on the kites in many colors. |
■Noshiro Shunkei
Nuri (Lacquer ware)
Noshiro Shunkei lacquering has about 300 years of history. After the Japanese Hiba wood is lacquered, the color changed to a light yellow, indicating its long history. |

(Wooden cask)
The natural Akita cedar is easy to cut and suitable for Akita Sugiokedaru (Akita cedar pail barrel woodwork) because of its beautiful straight grain. |

It was made by Unshichi Matsumoto who drifted from Shiraiwa village. This traditional beautiful over glaze produces different from Naraoka Yaki pottery style. |

Made by polishing Yama Sakura bark. The skill was passed down as a side job for Samurai. |
■Goten Mari (traditional
ball)
Balls don't have specific artists. Women in the town made them, and they created colorful geometric patterns on the balls. |
